It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Alice (Filipi) Vlasak. Alice was born April 19, 1922 to Frank A. & Milena (Kodejs) Filipi in Roy, Montana. She passed away October 18, 2020 at her home in Wilber. When Alice was one year old, her parents moved to Denton, NE and later to rural Crete. She married Lawrence Vlasak in 1942 while he was in the Army and in 1945 when Lawrence was honorably discharged they made their home on a farm near Clatonia and then later moved to Wilber where they raised their five children.
She was employed at the Wilber Care Center for 28 years. She was a member of the Wilber rescue squad for 30 years. She taught Bible school at Lutheran Church in Wilber and once served as the president of the LCW Club. Her hobbies include reading and embroidering many sets of dish towels and baby blankets which she gave as gifts. She enjoyed cooking and baking for the family. She made the best chocolate chip cookies which were enjoyed by her children and grandchildren.
