Dennis James Culhane, 63, of Lincoln passed away at home in the presence of his loving family on Friday, the 29th of October, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Dennis was born August 26, 1958, in Yankton S.D. to parents Leo and Dorothy (Wilaby) Culhane and grew to adulthood in Hartington NE. He wed Tamara L Culhane on November 23, 1991, in Lincoln and became father to Tayler Marie in 1993. Dennis enjoyed returning home to South Dakota to hunt pheasant with family and was also an avid biking enthusiast with a tattoo to prove it. A master carpenter and perfectionist who took care of every detail, Dennis was often found working on improvement projects both inside and outside the home.
Dennis’ professional career began with Elmer Hochstein construction. He then attended school for drafting and spent the last 28 years working for Hartland Homes of Lincoln. Dennis found great joy in spending time with family and friends and especially loved to travel with Tammy to Mexico, his favorite destination. His most special trip to Mexico took place in November of 2020 and saw Dennis give his daughter away in marriage. He loved listening to music and spoke fondly of the many concerts attended over the years with his brothers.
Dennis is survived by his wife Tammy, daughter Tayler (husband Chris) Stewart, siblings Larry (wife Kate), Steve (wife Elaine), Don, and sister Cindy (husband Mark) Hans, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
