Jacqueline "Jackie" Ellis

September 18, 1951 ~ February 3, 2022 (age 70)


Jacqueline "Jackie" Ellis, passed away on February 3, 2022. She was born September 18, 1951 to Lawrence and Shirley Cook, in Lincoln, NE.

Jackie married her husband George Ellis March 3, 1979 in a small intimate ceremony in Lincoln, NE. They have three children, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and another due in May 2022.

When Jackie's children were little, she had them outdoors all the time. She took them swimming at Antelope pool with her girlfriends and their children. She and her husband George played numerous sports such as softball, and would have Gemini parties with family and friends.

Jackie worked for years as a bartender and waitress at places such as Grandpa's Ribs, The Elks Lodge, Happy Chef, and Los Mendoza to name a few. She made lots of friends and built lasting relationships within these jobs.

Jackie loved gambling! She attended Bingo on a regular basis and liked the slot machines.

Jackie and George retired to Las Vegas in September 2009 and loved having friends and family visit.

They moved back to Lincoln November 2021 due to medical reasons and so their children could take care of them.

Jackie is survived by her father, Lawrence Cook, sister, Donna Posvar, and brother Larry (Jill) Cook. Her husband, George, daughters Angela (Jim) Ellis, Monica (Ryan) Ellis, and son, Emeric Ellis. Her grandchildren; Samantha (Matt) Harris, Nick (Kryssy) Allen, Azia Ellis, Amanda Ellis, Taur'Rencia Smith-Ellis, Nathan Ellis, Taurian Smith II, Athena Ellis, Devin Ellis and Carlos Valdez. She is proceeded in death by her mother Shirley Cook, brother-in-law, Bob Posvar and additional family. 

The Celebration of Life for Jackie will be February 13, 2022, from 12pm-4pm at 4441 N 1st St, Lincoln, NE 68521. If you would like to send cards or flowers you may do so to this address or to Lincoln Family Funeral Care and they will forward on to the family.
