Obituary

Jaton Wilson Stewart, affectionately known as “Tonie” was born October 3, 1966 to loving parents Robert L. Wilson Sr. and Barbara Ann McCallum Wilson.

Jaton was raised in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the heart of the southside along with her three other siblings, Robert, Tammie, and Clarence. Jaton began her early education by attending St. James Catholic Grammar School where she completed 1st thru 8th grade. After graduation from St. James, she attended Christian Fenger High School. Later in her studies she attended ITT Technical where she undertook an associate degree in electronics.

Jaton, while pursuing her education took time out to become a mother, gave birth to Lloyd R. Haywood (1981) (who preceded her in death), affectionately known as (“Gunny”), Robert L. Wilson (1984) AKA (“Fatman”), Jataun K. Wilson (1987) AKA (“Puddin”). Later, she met and married Reginald E. Stewart Sr. Out of that union she had five additional children, Reginald E. Jaton, like her other siblings received the honorable knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized as a child.

Jaton was the kind of woman who believed in her life and lived it as much as possible to the fullest of her understanding. She was a woman who was never at a loss of words, who always stood her ground, did not mince her feelings when it came to those around her or those who knew her. She was also a loving mother and a supportive sibling.

Jaton also set her mind with professional etiquette in the workplace always striving to finish what she started.
