Jeannette Adele Brown

April 7, 1939 ~ April 21, 2020 (age 81)

Jeannette Adele Brown, 81, passed away peacefully at Tabitha at Williamsburg Seagren House on April 21, 2020. Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jeannette was born April 7, 1939, in Lincoln, Nebraska to John and Olive (Gillespie) Kirby. She loved caring for plants, baking, sewing, cross-stitch, reading, crosswords, antiquing, friends, but most especially, her loving family. She entertained a career as a business manager of several family businesses. She also volunteered for Tabitha Meals on Wheels. But the job she enjoyed most was raising her 5 children and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Everyone who was fortunate enough to encounter Jeannette would tell you she was the kindest soul they had ever met.  She had a kind word for everyone and a smile that would light up a room. She was a long-time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in College View.

Jeannette is survived by daughters, Cynthia (Jonathan) Roth, Jennifer Porter, Susan Brown, sons, David (Vicki) Brown, William (Cindy, Deceased) Brown; grandchildren Mimi Brown, Mark Porter, Douglas (Emily) Brown, Erin (Bryan) Mauro, Brandy (Bryant) Brooks, Alexander Brown, Nicolette Brown, Aneisha Brown; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Velma) Kirby Jr., Gary (Susie) Kirby and sister, Judy (Lee) Stubblefield; cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, John Kirby Sr. and Olive Trautman; daughter-in-law Cindy Kirby; special friend Dennis Ohnoutka.

Memorials may be directed to Tabitha Meals on Wheels.

Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date.
