Obituary

Margaret R. Holtorf

April 30, 1943 ~ May 19, 2020

Maggie was born April 30, 1943, the eleventh of 13 children, to Percy and Marjorie (Sinsel) Foulk of Archer, Nebraska. They named her Margaret Rosanne and she always hated both names, so when the kids nicknamed her Maggie, it stuck. She went to school first at District 14, then at Archer where she graduated from 8th grade, before completing high school in Central City. A talented, musical family, she and siblings, Burt, Denny and Ron formed a band (The Country Foulks) and later: “Maggie and the Bull System”.

In August of 1961 she married her high-school sweetheart, Ron Kuhn. Together they had two children, Theresa (Teri) and Russ. They later divorced. In May of 1984 she married Ed Holtorf. He died in 2000.

She spent most of her life working in the Abstract and Title Insurance Business, operating her own shop, Equity Title Company first in Grand Island and later in Central City. After Ed’s death, she moved to Plattsmouth and retired from First Nebraska Title Company in Omaha in 2006.

She enjoyed researching the family genealogy and together with her sister, Alice Torpin, published and distributed the “Foulk Family Newsletter” for over ten years. She also created two informative photo albums, portraying the history of the Sinsel and Foulk Families. She loved flowers and gardening, reading and crossword puzzles, Gray’s Anatomy and QVC.

She leaves behind cherished daughter, Teri (Vaughn) Kelso of Hickman, NE; Beloved son, Russ (Julia) Kuhn of Plattsmouth, NE, and the greatest grandkids in the world, Josh Kelso, Rhianna (Kile) Casteel and Lexie Kuhn…and that very special great grandson, Dominick Casteel; Siblings, Phil (Joan) Foulk of Omaha, Alice Torpin of Grand Island, Burt Foulk of Central City, Karen (Shorty) Foulk of Grand Island, Helen (Ron) Foulk of Central City and Janet Foulk Cordsen of Cheyenne, WY; Numerous nieces, nephews and their children.

She also leaves Dolly (her not so faithful but much-loved Shih Tzu) and her 45-year-old Yucca Tree named Percy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Myron Foulk, Keith (Shorty) Foulk, Dennis Foulk, and Ron Foulk; Her sisters, Darlene Foulk, Linda Rinker, Sharon Butler and Shirley; And brothers-in-law Kenneth Torpin and Jim Butler.
