Phyllis June (Hall) Manley

January 28, 1927 ~ August 3, 2022 (age 95)

On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, the Lord called His good and faithful servant, Phyllis June Hall Manley, home.

Phyllis was born on Friday, January 28, 1927, in Hoyt, KS to George Fredrick Hall and Geraldine Claire Jarrett Hall. She spent the first eighteen years of her life there. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at Kansas State University where she received her B.S. and Nursing Degrees.

In 1950, she moved to Belleville, KS where she met a young man from Villa Park, IL. They had three dates and on November 8th, two weeks after they had met, Phyllis and Robert Manley were married in the Belleville Methodist Church.

From this marriage, four children were born —Bob Manley Jr., Janet Keller; Carol Miller and John Manley. Also, four children were adopted into the family —Kelly Manley; Susan Miller, Joy McArtor, and Rebekah Richardson

During her entire adult life, she was focused upon two things: her love and compassion for family and friends; and her love for the Lord…both which never faltered. Her continual faith and prayerful attitude were a strength and blessing to those around her. Phyllis was one who was not bashful about her proclaiming her faith because she lived it!  Her conversations always centered upon the Lord. It made no difference whom she was talking to…a group at a bible study; people at church; friends at a gathering or someone she met on the street; the Lord was never far away nor left out!

Anyone who knew her knows there’s no reason to mourn her passing. Of all of those that have entered the kingdom; no one is more worthy than she. We are blessed to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this grand lady; a friend to many and a blessed Mom, “Granny” and “Great Granny” is with the Lord. Her dream has finally come true!

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Bob Jr of Mesa AZ; John of St. Louis, MO; and Kelly of Sacramento, CA.; daughters; Janet Keller of Adams, NE; Susan Miller of Overland Park, KS; Joy McArtor of Chicago, IL; and Rebekah  Richardson of Lincoln, NE; one sister; Judy Hiatt of Kearney, MO, and twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Manley; her daughter, Carol Miller, and two sisters, Georgia Erwin and Gloria Brown.

A family burial service will be at the Hoyt, KS Cemetery in September. A Celebration of Life will be held for her friends and family on October 2; 1-4 pm at the Van Dorn Villa; 3001 South 51st St; Lincoln, NE 68506.
